Wästberg to launch Van Severen w111

Wästberg is reintroducing the U-Line lamps designed by late Belgian designer Maarten van Severen at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011.
The reintroduction of Maarten Van Severen’s U-Line family of lamps was made possible by close collaboration with both Maarten’s family and The Maarten Van Severen Foundation. With improved mechanical and technical performance and equipped with LED’s, the lamp is now called Van Severen w111. The floor and table versions will be presented at the Northern Light Fair/ Stockholm Furniture Fair, between 8 and 12 February 2011.

Launched in 2008, Wästberg lamps are now sold globally and have been honoured with more than 30 awards for design excellence, including 7 Good Design Awards, 4 Reddot awards, Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany and an Elle Interior Design Prize. Wästberg is based in Helsingborg, in the southernmost region of Sweden, Skåne.
Maarten Van Severen
Belgian designer and interior architect Maarten Van Severen was born in Antwerp on 5 June 1956 and died in Ghent on 21 February 2005. Today Maarten lives on through his work, all of it consisting of masterpieces that have already earned their place in the pantheon of design. Today Maarten‘s work is well kept by The Maarten Van Severen Foundation, a not for profit organization set up by family, friends and acquaintances of Maarten Van Severen.
