Villa Noilles

Tutti Frutti, a solo exhibition by Inga Sempé displaying sketches, mock-ups and objects (including lamps from Wästberg) opens at Villa Noailles in Hyères, in the south of France. Ends September 24. 

The exhibition opens in connection to Design Parade Hyère at Villa Noilles. Design Parade Hyères aim to make discover, to promote, and to support the young generation and to present, to members of the profession and the general public, international designers through exhibitions and conferences. The jury is composed of: Inga Sempé (president of the jury), Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, Laurence Brabant, Nora Fehlbaum, Chris Martin, Massimo Orsine, Pernelle Poyet, Annalisa Rosso, Alice Stori Liechtenstein and Magnus Wästberg. 

Villa Noailles is an early modernist house, built by archtict Robert Mallet-Stevens for art patrons Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, between 1923 and 1927. It is located in the hills above Hyères, in the Var, southeastern France. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, the couple were important patrons of modern art, particularly surrealism; they supported film projects by Man Ray, Salvador Dalí, and Luis Buñuel; and commissioned paintings, photographs and sculptures by Balthus, Giacometti, Constantin Brâncuși, Miró, and Dora Maar. The villa is now used as an arts center and for special exhibits.
