w241 Faro

2024.02.28

Since 2008, in collaboration with some of the world’s leading architects and designers, Wästberg has created critically acclaimed lighting solutions that balance aesthetics with the finest technical properties. Take, for example, the new w241 Faro hybrid lamp, designed in collaboration with British architect Sir David Chipperfield and inspired by a traditional lighthouse.

w241 Faro, is a portable, rechargeable lamp of uncompromising quality. An interior detail with great decorative potential, it is also an ideal companion in the garden or on a balcony. Its batteries last up to 20 hours and charge in four hours with the accompanying charger. With its seamless dimmer, it can provide both strong illumination and a more discreet, intimate atmosphere. The lamp is made of die-cast aluminium and is available in five different colours: Grey white, Pure red, Traffic green, Chocolate brown, Black grey. A remote control for up to 25 units is available.  (The colour range originates from the harbour of Corrubedo in Spain. Here you will also find David Chipperfield’s Bar do Porto where the same colour palette is present.)

The lamp is also available in tumbled raw aluminium, with no extra finish or protective coating. The natural structure of the surface has a tactile depth, and over time the lamp gains a beautiful, distinctive patina through handling and oxidation. The benefits of this austere finish can also be measured in more efficient use of energy and materials in manufacture and recycling.
