Wästberg becomes W+
Wästberg has unveiled the next step in its brand evolution, becoming W+. Building on the company’s strong emotional design legacy, the new brand is adopting a bolder, clearer expression, reflecting its expanded potential within the XAL Group.
At the heart of Wastberg+ is a single principle: good light – light that is emotional, functional, sustainable, and affordable. These four qualities form the pillars of the new W+ brand, defining both its identity and its direction going forward.
As part of the XAL Group, the brand gains enhanced access to technology, research and development, production infrastructure, and global distribution – significantly expanding its capabilities and future potential.
Importantly, this makes it possible to offer premium lighting on a larger scale, while supporting affordability as an integral part of good light. As Fabienne Hierzer, Managing Director at W+ explains: “Affordable does not mean cheap. It means well-designed products that can, through thoughtful engineering and intelligent production, be made accessible to many.”
W+’s closer alignment with XAL creates stronger operational and strategic synergies, while clarifying its role within the group’s broader lighting ecosystem. Within this context, W+ continues to develop design-led, architecturally relevant lighting that responds to the needs of both humans and spaces, guided by core values of clarity, balance, and responsibility. While the brand is evolving, its emotional heritage and close collaborations with leading designers and architects remain firmly intact.
During a transitional phase, the brand will use the name Wastberg+ as a bridge between Wästberg and the new W+ identity.
